Silverdale Road, Sheffield
The owners appointed JCAD following a detailed Design consultation where numerous Architectural design options were discussed and agreed to be explored.
Once that the initial design process was completed a final scheme was produced and agreed with the client prior to a successful planning application being submitted to Sheffield City Council. Following this comprehensive and highly detailed drawings were produced and Structural Engineers consulted to finalise the overall construction package which was submitted to building control and approved prior to construction works commencing.
The scheme is broadly detailed below.
Existing Property – A detached three bedroom property situated on a corner plot in a desirable and sought after location of Sheffield.
As Built – The existing double garage to the side of the property was taken down and a new single storey wrap around extension was formed to create a new main entrance to the property to be formed fronting onto the driveway (previously located illogically to the far side of the house), tandem double garage to the side and large open plan living dining kitchen with separate utility.
The now disused entrance porch has also been converted into a small study and a new downstairs toilet installed within a large entrance hallway.
Substantial excavation works have been undertaken to form the extension within the bank of the rear garden, whilst the land has been terraced ready for next summer’s landscaping project.
Sections of the extension and existing dwelling were finished with smooth faced painted render to provide the house with a more modern and stylish appearance more suited to a prominent property.
The completed dwelling comprises the following accommodation:
• New large open plan living dining kitchen
• Downstairs Toilet
• Repositioned Entrance Hallway
• Tandem Double Garage
